How We Handle Consent, Identification and Unsubscribe Controls
Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) is overseen by the CRTC, which describes three core requirements for commercial electronic messages: consent, sender identification and contact information, and a working unsubscribe mechanism. Here is how GetDealerReviews supports each one.
Consent
The dealership remains responsible for confirming that it has the consent or other lawful basis required for the customer communications it asks GetDealerReviews to send. GetDealerReviews does not replace this dealership obligation.
Sender identification
Messages are sent using the dealership's name so customers can clearly identify who is contacting them and why.
Unsubscribe mechanism
Email requests include a working unsubscribe link. SMS requests instruct the customer to reply STOP. Opt-outs are recorded by dealership and channel and suppressed from future requests. Each day, the dealership is emailed an opt-out list so those customers can be removed from other communications too.
